About my job
“Since a young age I’ve had a keen interest in the operations of business, studying economics, business and accounting. Therefore the opportunity to join the recently voted ‘best graduate employer’ was an offer I couldn’t turn down.
When I joined Barratt last year, the philosophies that underpin the business were clear from the start. The Barratt Graduate programme is tailored to suit each individual to help build on their current abilities and realise potential. The programme for me has been a perfect hybrid of understanding our business fundamentals and developing my finance abilities. During the first year of the departmental rotations, I have undertaken a wide variety of training and personal development modules, been exposed to unique areas of the business and visited our distinctive developments whilst participating in divisional/company-wide charity projects.
Since completing the first year of rotations, I have joined the Finance department and I am currently studying towards the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants qualification which Barratt are supporting me through. I am optimistic for the year ahead and with the support of my mentor and coach added to my personal hard work I will be aiming to help drive our business forward.”
