Job Description

Damp Proofer

Damp Proofers lay damp proof membranes to prevent moisture rising into a building from the ground. Damp proof layers are laid when new buildings are constructed, however with old buildings damp proofing may be required as the layer may have deteriorated or were not placed within a building when constructed. For maintenance and replacement work Damp Proofers drill holes into the building and fill with a liquid damp proof material such as silicone. Damp Proofers use a range of materials to seal the building from the damp ground beneath it.
