Taylor Wimpey's graduates schemes and apprenticeships

Graduate Management Scheme

Our graduate programme is a 2 year rotational scheme, where each graduate will spend time in all areas of the Taylor Wimpey business including; production, commercial, technical, sales and marketing, customer service, land and finance.

Each graduate will participate in an exciting development programme including management and leadership training whilst gaining ‘hands on’ experience in all aspects of the business. Following successful completion of the programme, we expect our graduates to progress their career in one of the following business areas; production, commercial, technical, sales & marketing, land, finance, sustainability and customer excellence.

We aim to equip ambitious, talented and determined individuals to achieve a director role within a 5-year timescale. Senior leaders within the business monitor the graduate’s progress and they will be supported in achieving professional and/or other appropriate qualifications if required.

Each graduate has the opportunity to explore different disciplines within a leading UK housebuilding company and work with a wide cross section of people as they move between business units throughout the country.

We are currently taking applications for our September 2015 intake of graduates.

Please click here to apply for our Graduate Management Scheme through Milkround.

Our recruitment campaign typically runs between November and April each year for the following September intake.

Site Management Apprenticeship

Our new Site Management Apprenticeship scheme offers individuals the chance to build a hands-on career, work with all kinds of people and gain a really valued qualification.

We have a long history of successfully developing many trade apprentices (long may this continue!) and we now want to employ further talented individuals to become our future driving force in site management, but with an exciting, new twist - learning first-hand how our business works as a whole!

As part of the scheme each Site Management Apprentice will have the opportunity to work in all of our departments, involving both site and office work. The departments range from Technical (Engineers/ Architects), Commercial (Quantity Surveyors/ Buyers) to Land & Planning as well as Sales, Finance and Customer Service. The apprentice will gain an insight into how all these departments work and fit together, then use this valuable knowledge to become one of our future Assistant Site Managers.

  • Maximum 3 year programme
  • Spend time working in different departments
  • Gain in depth knowledge of site management
  • Achieve relevant vocational qualification
  • They’ll have a personal mentor who’ll support them

Here are a few words from one of our current Site Management Apprentices:

Monika Masowa, one of our site management apprentices in the East Scotland regional business, said: “I was attracted to the scheme as it offers a great opportunity to put the skills and knowledge gained at college into practice, and, with all the support available from my site manager and others, I’m learning a huge amount every day. I’m very much enjoying my journey with Taylor Wimpey and am looking forward to gaining experience in a range of office teams as well as on site.”

Monika chose to join the scheme after completing her college work experience at our Abbey Grange development in Arbroath last year. She was awarded the Angus College award for the ‘Best Built Environment Student’ for proving herself as a valuable and dedicated member of the Abbey Grange team with a real desire to do well in construction.

About Taylor Wimpey

We are one of the UK's largest residential developers. As a responsible developer we are committed to working with local people and communities.

We were formed by the merger of George Wimpey and Taylor Woodrow in 2007, and have operations in the UK and Spain. We aim to be the developer of choice for customers, employees, communities and shareholders.

We are one of the largest homebuilders in the UK, operating from 24 regional offices across England, Scotland and Wales.

We build a wide range of properties, from one- and two-bedroom apartments to five bedroom detached houses, with a broad price range including both private and affordable homes. We are truly national and we cover most regions across the UK. Our regional businesses are run as local homebuilders and have in depth knowledge and experience of the local market. We understand that development is about more than creating homes and we provide millions of pounds worth of infrastructure, for example roads, sewers, landscaping and community facilities, every year across the UK. We aim to develop vibrant communities with a true sense of place that fit into their surrounding area and meet the needs of local people.

We are a responsible community developer, committed to working with local people, community groups and local authorities and keeping them informed about our work, both before we build and throughout the life of the development. We focus on getting the basics of homebuilding right first time, such as quality, customer service and health and safety, and we aim to continually improve all parts of our business.
